LUX Hair and Make-up is a mobile hair and make-up company. LUX was created by Senior stylist and professional Make-up Artist Janelle Langston.

LUX Specialises in Bridal Hair and Makeup, Event and Photoshoot Hair and Make-up, Professional cutting , colouring, and waxing.

I believe, on a woman’s wedding day she should look and feel like herself. She should stroll down that aisle with confidence and joy. I am a strong believer of playing up a woman’s natural beauty allowing her to feel like herself…just a more glamorised version. I fear that if she tries too hard to create a new look she will look back at her photos in 10 years time and think...who was that?? Where am I??? My philosophy is to create the look that will bring out a woman’s most beautiful self.

LUX realises that there will be few if any other times in a woman’s life where she envisions looking the best she has ever looked. We know how important it is to get it right. Because of this we throw ourselves into the process of making you look the way you always dreamed of looking. Together we will create the perfect look.

The Trial

We believe that a bridal trial is an essential part of the process. During a trial we consult with the bride about the way she wants to look. If needed the bride should find photos or magazine clip outs of what she would like. Alternatively she may flip through a book of styles we will have on hand. A hair trial consists of up to three different styles if the bride is not sure what she would like. We do our best to give professional and creative advice that suits each individual woman. A make-up trial consists of up to two different looks, one on each side of the face if necessary, to allow the bride to see what she prefers. At the end of the trial a photo is taken and notes are written down to the last detail to ensure that the look is perfectly replicated on your wedding day.

As professional, highly trained artists we use only the finest products suitable for photography, sensitive skin, all day wear…including rain and tears. Whatever hairstyle you choose, you will be confident that it will stay beautiful all day long…and into the following day!

The trial is also a time to fine tune important details such as the number of services, the time of arrival and ready time, location, etc…

Bridesmaids and mums are invited to have trials if they would prefer however a trial is not absolutely necessary.

Please allow up to 3 hours for your individual trial.

The Day

On your wedding day we will always arrive 15 minutes early to set up. The last thing we want to do is cause any unneeded stress! We ask that all who will be having hair & make-up services are in attendance at the scheduled time of arrival, making the process fluid with no delays. The bride will always be made over last or close to last, ensuring she is fresh and ready to put her dress on and go! Also allowing the bride to relax and spend time with friends and relatives before the nerves kick in. Touch- ups to lipstick, powder and hairspray will be provided before everyone runs out the door. Lipsticks and powders will also be available for purchase to touch- up throughout the day. If the hair & makeup artist is required to stay throughout the day, special arrangements can be made.

LUX believes it is every woman’s personal prerogative to know how to look and feel her personal best. We believe that one element of this is how we represent ourselves through our hair styles & make-up.

LUX is committed to training women in how to look the way they want to look. By teaching them the tricks of the trade, they will be able to re create what they have been taught in their everyday lives.

Every lesson includes:

• A professional analysis of contents in makeup bag. Are you using the products which are right for you? (make-up lessons only)

• A step by step lesson in hair styling and/or makeup

• A personal report with step by step instruction on how to re create the look/s taught

• Tricks & tips

• A colouring guide (make-up lesson only)

• A list of products used and where to find them if not purchased from a LUX artist.

Going above and beyond a basic lesson, LUX also offers a make-up bag clearout, affectionately known as “The Brand New You Make-up Bag”. This service includes a look through your make-up bag - keeping the good and throwing out the bad, followed by a personal shop with your professional make-up artist to find the products that work for you. Alternatively your artist can shop for you and bring the new products to you.
